My local ALDI got more ground beef than it requested from their supplier. As a result, they were offering $3 off a 5 pound package of 77/23 ground beef. Before the discount the beef cost $8.56. After the discount, I got 5 pounds of ground beef for $1.11 a pound. Similar deal for bananas which are now 25 cents a bag or a nickel a pound. The lesson? Check your local ALDI often for great deals.
